School Year 2008/2009
Welcome to the web page and nomination form for the 2008-2009 Third Annual Environmental Teacher of the Year Award. The Environmental Science Education Cooperative “ESEC” offers this $500.00 award to educators who promote critical thinking of environmental issues and to stimulate environmental awareness in the Central Savannah River Area.
ESEC believes that teachers play a large and important role in the lives of their students in addition to their impact in their communities. We open this award to all teachers. You will not need to be an Environmental Science Teacher or work in a public school to participate in this award process. We welcome nominees from all fields of instruction and from all educational institutions except from those institutions that are also ESEC members or affiliates. We are very pleased to receive nominations for grade school and science teachers but are equally pleased to get a nomination for (or from) the social science or math teacher who incorporates environmental concepts and issues into their instruction.
The Environmental Science Education Cooperative (ESEC) wishes to recognize and reward teachers who promote students to become critical thinkers of environmental issues and those who utilize environmental science concepts in their instruction. We seek to promote the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) as a center for excellence in environmental education.
The winning teacher will be selected based on the following criteria:
