Environmental Teacher of the Year Award

Each year, ESEC recognizes and reward teachers who encourage students to become critical thinkers of environmental issues and who utilize environmental science concepts in their instruction.  This $500 award is open to public, private, and home school teachers of all disciplines.

The winning teacher will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. Positively motivates students and colleagues toward environmental awareness.
2. Exhibits creative and/or innovative teaching techniques when introducing environmental issues into the curriculum.
3. Motivates students to become critical thinkers about environmental issues.
4. Conveys the importance of environmental education in today’s society.
5. Encourages students and peers to become environmental stewards.
