The McDuffie
Environmental Education Center: This
program provides teachers a unique site to take students for a hands-on
outdoor experience. Lessons are tied to the visit in this diverse
biologically and technologically rich site. Students participate
in stimulating, outdoor
learning experiences about the ecology of our wildlife, water, soils,
and forests and the stewardship of these important natural resources. To
schedule a visit to the MEEC, please contact Ann Matherly at
amatherl@mcduffie.k12.ga.us.
- The
JASON Project: This multi-disciplinary program sparks the imagination
of students and enhances the classroom experience. From oceans
to rain forests, from polar regions to volcanoes, the JASON Project explores
Planet Earth and exposes students to leading scientists who work with
them to examine its biological and geological development. For
training, contact the Educational
Technology Training Center at Fort Discovery.
- Monarchs
Across Georgia: Monarchs Across Georgia (MAG) is a collaboration
of the Environmental Education Alliance, teachers, students, families,
communities, businesses and others, all working together to study Monarch
butterflies and restore butterfly habitat across the state.
