Eco-Meet is an environmental science competition open to Middle School students in public, private, and home schools in the CSRA. It is hosted at one of our Member sites annually in November.
What is Eco-Meet?
Eco-Meet is open to middle school students in the CSRA of Georgia and South Carolina. Schools may enter 2 teams of up to 4 students each and each team needs an adult to act as a coach. Coaches can be as involved with preparing their team as they would like, but at minimum need to be there the day of the event.
The competition consists of six different testing stations hosted by different member organizations of ESEC. Each station has a study packet and sample questions available for teams to utilize before the competition. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each testing station, along with the 1st place overall winners, will receive medals. Additionally, plaques will be given out to hang in your school for the first place overall winners and the coach of the year.
Eco-Meet Rules
Study Packets are not permitted at the Eco-Meet site.
Team members and coaches will not share information about test questions during competition. This includes texting.
Student cell phones & smart watches (unless coach permission slip provided) must be turned OFF and be put away during competition.
Coaches must remain away from testing stations during competition.
Failure to abide by these rules will result in immediate disqualification for the entire team.

2025 's Optional Project: T-shirt Logo Design Contest
This project was optional, but may be used as a tiebreaker for Eco-Meet test scores and medals will be awarded to the team with the best project.
The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Environmental Science Education Cooperative (ESEC) would like to connect students to the environment through artistic design and creativity. This project is to engage, educate, and motivate students to learn and love the elements of the environment around them. This is your opportunity to learn more about your team’s environmental interests and use them to guide you in the design process. For this project, you and your Eco-Meet teammates will design an all-black line drawing logo for the back of a t-shirt. This logo needs to include “CSRA-ESEC” in the logo. Include elements of the CSRA region in the line drawing, such as a river, an endangered or protected species that live in the area, or even an environmental practice such as recycling.
